Thursday May 15, 2008

Mediapulse, Knoxville's oldest and most established web design studio, is the recipient of seven Horizon Interactive Awards, a prestigious international competition recognizing outstanding achievement among interactive media producers. The studio was recognized for its high aesthetic standards and its ability to effectively communicate a message with purpose and clarity.

Mediapulse received three Silver Horizon Interactive Awards for The Gatlinburg Department of Tourism website (www.gatlinburg-tennessee.com), the East Tennessee Economic Development Agency (www.eteda.org), and the Explore Townsend website for the Smoky Mountains Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.smokymountains.org).

"The Explore Townsend site is one of our greatest accomplishments," said Scott Spaid, president of Mediapulse. "In addition to featuring some of our best Flash work ever, the site has great functionality for visitors to interact with and for SMCVB's staff to update the site."

In the bronze category, Mediapulse won four for Hallsdalle-Powell Utility District (www.hpud.org), ET Motogear (www.etmotorgear.com), Park West Church of God (www.parkwest.org), and WDVX 89.9 FM (www.wdvx.com).

Horizon Interactive Award entries are reviewed and scored by a panel of seven judges comprised of seasoned, well respected industry professionals. They represent various aspects of the interactive media industry and represent a wide range of markets, including: design and creative firms, advertising agencies, artists, Fortune 500 companies, public relations firms, and freelancers.
